Other facts

I am a PHHS Graduate and spent all but 10 years of my life as a Parsippany Resident. As a member of our BOE since 2006 I have overseen the successful completion of the referendum projects on time and within budget, maintained high academic standards and implemented programs to continuously improve student achievement and while as the Chair of the District Teaching and Learning Committee we have added many Honors and AP courses to our HS course offerings. I have been an outspoken voice on maintaining small class sizes while taking the lead on reducing class size were possible for the benefit of our children and with as small a budget impact as possible. We have maintained the “highly qualified†standard in our teaching staff, a low administrator to student ratio, and low non instructional costs. While I was the Chair of Teaching and Learning we implemented a broadened electives program for our Middle School students and maintained and expanded co curricular activities to include more of our students. I have continuously supported expanded co teaching and inclusion programs. I have maintained a fiscally responsible budget that helped keep costs low and programs intact. While I’ve served as the Teaching and Learning Chair we have and continue to successfully Implement increased technology programs, have implemented many student resource and support services and continue to return special education students back to our district because of the completed referendum project and the increased support systems in place, We have implemented a district wide security system that provides increased security for our students, parents and staff and while I was on the district negotiating committee, we successfully eliminated the costly Traditional Health Care option from numerous unaffiliated staff, and organized bargaining units. I have served our community in a variety of volunteer capacities over the years as ; Eastlake PTA President , Lake Par. PTA VP, Parsippany PGT President , Parsippany District Demographics Committee & Principal Search Committee. PTA Council Member , PEC Member ,Project Graduation Volunteer. Active school volunteer for 15 years, Attended BOE meetings for 11 years prior to election, LPPOA Board of Directors & LPPOA Volunteer, Girl Scout Leader,Boy Scout Volunteer, PAL Basketball Coach, PTA Committee Chair, P R A I S E Member and, Church Relief Society Compassionate Service Leader, I am married to Joe Orme Jr, a wonderfully dedicated and supportive husband and father, and a volunteer in the community as well and am the proud Mother of PHHS Graduates Jessica, Jayanne, Teddy and David and the proud Grandmother to Colton who will attend Eastlake as a Kindergartener in 2015.
