FEMA Office Opens in Parsippany

A range of disaster services will be provided at the Par-Troy Police Athletic League building.

Help is on the way to flood survivors or anyone in need of disaster assistance in Morris County.

Parsippany is home to the new Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery Center.  The office will operate within the Parsippany Police Athletic League at 33 Baldwin Rd. starting Saturday.

At the Parsippany DRC, residents can find information from FEMA specialists about different types of state and federal disaster assistance; get help completing applications for U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private nonprofit organizations; inquire about the status of applications for federal help; receive referrals to nonprofit service organization; and learn about ways to save money and reduce the impact of future disaster losses.

Morris County Human Services representatives will be on-site to assist as well, and to help process applications for D-SNAP food assistance

To get help from FEMA, you must register. This can be done online or by calling FEMA's toll-free number, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Those with access or functional needs who use a TTY may call 800-462-7585, or they may use 711 or Video Relay Service to call 800-621-3362. Both numbers are available from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The DRC will be open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice. If you need transportation, Morris County's Department of Human Services is providing shuttle service this weekend. The Morris County Office of Emergency Management offers a shuttle schedule and public transportation information
