Former GOP Committeewoman Anna Marie Strumolo Dies

The veteran community advocate and homemaker was the mother of Board of Education member Michael Strumolo.

Anna Marie Strumolo, who served as a Morris County Republican Committeewoman for more than 30 years, died Tuesday night at after a long illness. She was 80 years old.  

Born Anna Marie De John in Newark, she lived there and in Orange before moving to Parsippany's Lake Hiawatha neighborhood in 1956.  

For 63 years, she was married to John J. Strumolo. Her survivors include her husband and their children, John Strumolo Jr.; school board member Michael Strumolo (and wife Dorothy) and Candy Strumolo Ocasio (and husband Julio); and grandchildren Joey, Louie, & Matthew.

Viewings will be held at the  Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass takes place at , 179 Baldwin Road. Burial will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 225 Ridgedale Ave. in East Hanover.
