GOP Committeeman Paul Carifi to Run for Council

One of nine candidates running for four seats.

Paul Carifi, a Parsippany Republican commiteeman and a Morris County Sheriff's officer, has announced that he'll be running for one of four Republican council seats this election. 

Carifi will be running against . Also running in the council race is Republican Robert Crawford, who will be vying against Councilman Vincent Ferrara for an unexpired two-year term and Democrats Tom Wyka and Annelise Catanzaro.

Carifi, a member of the township Republican club, has lived in Parsippany for 37 years and is a Sergeant in the Protective Services Division of the county Sheriff's office, where he has worked for 23 years.

Carifi was Commander of the Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.) and Head Physical Training Instructor at the Morris County Police Academy.  He is also a graduate of The State Certified Public Manager Program. 

As a chid he attended Eastlake Elementary School and Brooklawn Middle School and graduated from Parsippany Hills High School in 1984.

He is the father of twin three-year-old boys.
