Par-Troy Dems Announce Committee Appointments

The Parsippany Democratic Party approved two new members for the group's municipal committee at its Wednesday meeting at the .

The committee approved the appointments of Joan Gan of District 34 and Michael Espejo of District 37.

Gan earned her stripes in politics by volunteering for the Obama campaign as a teenager in 2008.

Espejo was an outspoken member of Parsippany Unite, the organization that spoke out against the now-scuttled Fields of Dreams plan.

Chairman Michael Soriano also announced that District 12 Committeeman Richard E. Trapp is stepping down from his position due to illness.

in the election held last June.

"Richard is a singular individual whose presence is already missed," Soriano said. "We send out lots of prayers and positive thoughts for his speedy recovery."

The nature of Trapp's illness was not revealed.
