Parsippany Assemblywoman Says Convention Energy is 'Electric'

BettyLou DeCroce said she is looking forward to Tuesday night's addresses by Ann Romney and Gov. Chris Christie.

The energy at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla. is reaching incredible levels, according to Parsippany resident and 26th District Asw. BettyLou DeCroce, who is among the GOP rank and file anticipating speeches Tuesday night by Ann Romney, wife of presumptive nominee Mitt Romney, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

DeCroce, an honorary delegate at the convention, said she is prepared for fireworks in Florida.

“The atmosphere here today is simply electric and I expect that tonight’s speakers will offer an unforgettable experience," she said. "Ann Romney is a courageous woman that I respect tremendously.  She and Gov. Christie will demonstrate to the nation why voters should trust their votes to Mitt Romney and Republicans this November."

DeCroce said New Jersey's delegation is excited to have Christie placed front and center as the keynote speaker at the convention.

“The governor’s presence here in Tampa has electrified the delegates," she said. "His unique persona has made him a true national political superstar. Anyone who has not heard him speak will understand after tonight why the governor deserves a place on the national political stage.”

DeCroce said she is extremely proud that Christie, who got his start in politics in Morris County, has come so far.

“I’ve known Chris a long time and remember his first foray into politics as a freeholder," she said. "He’s always been a man who knew where he was headed, and it’s not difficult to understand how he came to be the keynote speaker at the 2012 Republican National Convention.”

Among those also representing Morris County as a delegate is state Sen. Joseph Pennacchio of Pine Brook.
