New President, VP to Lead Parsippany Council

With the new year comes change. For the Parsippany-Troy Hills council, Paul Carifi, Jr. was selected as council president and Robert Peluso was picked as council vice president, both for two-year terms. 

Republicans Peluso and Louis A. Valori beat out three other candidates for the two seats with three-year terms in November. 

All nominations and appointments were passed unanimously except for the vote for Jonathan Nelson as a regular member on the Zoning Board of adjustment. Councilmember Michael diPierro voted against it. 

Nelson would be replacing Member Saurin Pathak. Right before the vote was taken, diPierro asked, "Has he (Pathak) even been asked if he wants to continue?"

"I did not personally speak to him,” answered Carifi.
