Parsippany's New Municipal Website is Up

Comprehensive site has video, detailed info.

Parsippany's , which debuted Sunday, is so comprehensive, you can find out what's for lunch for seniors at the community center (pot roast and stewed tomatoes  were on Monday's menu).

The site includes a posting of the entire budget, along with current ordinances and a video of Mayor James Barberio addressing the Morris County Economic Development Corporation meeting earlier this month. (You can find it at parsippany.net)

Each township department has its own web page, along with contact information for department heads. And there 's a spot for "featured projects'' (upgrades on the wastewater treatment plant) and a photo gallery. Although a press release last week promised news updates, the site didn't have a post informing residents that New Road was still closed at Partridge Run due to flooding, however.

According to business administrator Jasmine Lim, the site, designed by Alpha Dog Solutions of Belleville, cost $11,000 to develop, including six months of maintenance. It will cost an another  $11,000 for six additional months, a service that includes calendar updates and news postings.

The goal of the new site is to provide "a more transparent, customer-service oriented online presence," Barberio said.
