Summer Playground Program Registration Starts Wednesday

Parsippany residents may enroll their kids either in person or online.

The Parsippany Recreation Department kicks off registration for its half-day playground program Wednesday.

The program covers playgrounds at Lake Parsippany, Volunteers Park, Knoll Park, Mt. Tabor Park and Manor Park and runs weekdays from July 1 through Aug. 23 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Activities include sports, games, arts and crafts, tournaments, special events, field trips and contests. The playground program will not operate on July 4 due to the holiday.

The cost for the eight-week program is $150.00; field trips have separate fees.

Registration takes place starting 9 a.m. Wednesday online and in person until each playground is filled.

Eligible participants must be Parsippany residents currently in grades kindergarten through 7th grade. Parents and guardians must provide proof of residency and 2012-13 grade level for all new registrants, including a current Parsippany Board of Education school report card showing the child's grade and address or, if the address is not on the report card, a utility bill along with a current report card.

Registration documents are available in the forms section of the Recreation Department page of the municipal website.

To enroll your child online, head to the special registration website. Those using the Internet method must forward a copy of a 2012-13 school report card to the Recreation Department before June 14. A convenience fee is charged for online registration.
