Town Offers Relief for Late Spring Scorcher
If you don't have access to air conditioning, the township has four places for you to go and find relief from the heat.
Temperatures Tuesday are in the 90s and with humidity it feels like it's 100 degrees outside, according to the National Weather Service.

Indeed, we still are in late spring, but at any time of year, hot and humid days can mean unhealthy situations for those who don't have access to cool air.

The Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills offers four places for people to escape the potentially dangerous pre-summer heat:
- , 1130 Knoll Rd., Lake Hiawatha (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
- , 449 Halsey Rd,. Parsippany (9 a.m. - 9 p.m.)
- , 68 Nokomis Ave., Lake Hiawatha ( 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.)
- , 31 Trinity Park, Mt. Tabor (10 a.m. - 9 p.m.)
If you know an elderly person or someone with respiratory issues, please be a good neighbor and check in on them to make sure they are cool and have plenty of water.

Also, be prepared: thunderstorms are expected to make an appearance as evening approaches.
The National Weather Service forecasts that temperatures Wednesday will go down, but only slightly. Forecasters say temps may return to the usual for late May—the mid 70s—by Thursday.
