BOE Member Louis Valori Won't Seek Re-election

The board will now have three seats open.

Board of Education member Louis Valori, who served a three-year term on the school board, won't be running for office again.

Valori said he wont seek another term because he was re-appointed to the township municipal alliance committee, which helps organize youth events, including the annual mock trial. He was also appointed to the Morris County Freeholders council on aging, disability and veterans affairs.

Another three-years on the school board would be difficult, given his other responsibilities, he said.

"It's too much, plus my daughter is getting married this year,'' Valori said.

Valori, who is a sergeant in the police department, and has been on active duty with a training unit of the Army Reserve, said he enjoyed his tenure, but warned incoming members that it's a tough job.

"I wish them the best,'' he said. "There's a hard road ahead and it's a lot of work.''
