Parsippany Marching Bands Score High in Competition

The two high schools took home awards for best music, visual, effect, color guard and percussion.

Both Parsippany high schools proudly walked away from a marching band competition with first and second place out of 13 schools.
This past Saturday they traveled to Morris Knolls High School for a Gold Star Show competition.

Parsippany Hills High School placed second with a score of 66 in their group 3A and North Warren Regional High School beat them with only .05 point difference in scores. PHHS also took home awards for best music and percussion.

Parsippany High School got first place with a score of 67.575. They were the only band in their group 5A. PHS received awards for best music, visual, effect, guard and percussion. Their performance was called Duality, which featured music from
the Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas spectacular.

PHS has a fundraiser coming up on Monday, Oct. 14. Stop by The Gourmet Cafe in Parsippany for a bite to eat because 10 percent of total sales for the day go to the PHS Band Boosters. Lunch is 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and Dinner is 4 - 8 p.m.
