Parsippany school board to be discussed

Parsippany Residents for a Responsible Board of Education will hold their next meeting on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room of the Lake Hiawatha Public Library.

Our group, which held its first meeting two weeks ago, is a coalition of parents and citizens who have come together for the purpose of addressing recent actions  by the  Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education. Among the items we have begun addressing are the rich contract extension and pay increase that were granted to Superintendent LeRoy Seitz, an action that the governor himself has publicly condemned.  Our objectives are as follows:

  • a board that once again puts the needs of children above the salary demands of administrators
  • a board that is once again accountable to parents and taxpayers
  • a board that is free of nepotism and conflicts of interest (real or perceived)

Members of the public who share our concerns are invited to join us at our next meeting this Thursday night. While anyone supporting our objectives is welcome to attend, please remember that we are not a debating society and reserve the right to limit attendance strictly to those who share our goals; those opposed to our group's purpose are therefore encouraged to seek out other organizations.
