Halloween at the Hills Scares and Delights

Parsippany Hills High School was filled Friday night with witches, adorable babies, tons of zombies and ninjas—and helpful teens.

Halloween reared its creepy head Friday night at the annual Halloween at the Hills event. This safe and controlled holiday effort is intended to be a safe trick-or-treat event for local elementary school kids. But there is no way the Parsippany Hills High School event could be the crowd-pleaser Patch witnessed—and we saw mile-wide smiles throughout—without the efforts of Vice Principal Thomas Rizk and the Hills student body, including its Student Council and numerous clubs, whose members entertained the younger kids and made their holiday safe and special. Donations were collected at the event to benefit Good Grief. The New Jersey nonprofit helps parents, kids and families cope with recent losses in their lives. Another collection of nonperishable food items was conducted to help flood-affected families in Parsippany.
