Mount Tabor Elementary Ranked Third for Student Performance

Mount Tabor Elementary School was ranked third in student performance in the state.

Mount Tabor Elementary School was named among the top 10 best schools in New Jersey, according to a recent report released by the JerseyCan.

“We work in coordination with GreatSchools and base our report cards on data provided by the New Jersey State Department of Education,” the organization states on its website. 

“We use results from the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge for grades three through eight and the High School Proficiency Assessment for grade 11, as well as four-year graduation rates for high schools,” they said.

The JerseycCan database provides information in five categories of student achievement for New Jersey's public schools and school districts.

  • Mount Tabor Elementary School was ranked #3 in Student Performance out of all New Jersey elementary schools only below Princeton Charter School and Bay Head Elementary School.

    According to the report, Mount Tabor is at 97.9 percent proficiency in student performance, which is based on the average percentage of students proficient or above across reading and math.

    This is just above average for the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District which is ranked at 91 percent efficient and well above the state average of 83 percent.

    The 2013 report card uses data from the 2011-2012 state assessments.
