Par Hills Students Make Case Against Drunk Driving

Mock trial gave aspiring lawyers a chance to show off their skills and to educate the public.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Municipal Court was the scene for A Mock Trial: Exploring Consequences of Driving While Intoxicated.

The event Monday night was organized by the Parsippany Municipal Alliance, a group that for more than three decades has worked to prevent alcohol and drug use in the township.

Portraying lawyers and witnesses in the case were members of Institute of Political and Legal Education, students who are considering careers in the law.

They were under the direction of teachers, Robert Weinstein and Adam Pavese, and received guidance from Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi. Hon. Anthony Frese, chief judge of Parsippany's traffic court, presided over the mock trial.
