Parsippany High Goes Pink

High schoolers don pink en masse to raise breast cancer awareness.

Students from suited up in shades of pink Friday in honor of . Their goal: to show their commitment to the effort to find a cure for the dreaded disease. Vice Principal Thomas Rizk said the event had an interesting twist too. Male faculty members have spent the past days growing beards, which they dyed pink for the occasion. Students then cast ballots for the best beard in the Beards for Breast Cancer competition.  "As of today we raised over $800 in only two weeks," Rizk said, adding that the money came from students' beard votes and T-shirt purchases. Funds will go toward breast cancer research. Rizk estimates between 800 and 900 students, faculty members and staffers took part in the pinking of Par High.
