Parsippany Hills and Parsippany High Get New Principals

Denis Mulroony to lead Parsippany High, Michael DiSanto taking helm at Hills.

Parsippany-Troy Hills School Interim Superintendent Dr. John Fitzsimons announced two new principals for Parsippany and Parsippany Hills high schools for the upcoming school year.

“We transferred Dr. Denis Mulroony to serve as the principal of Parsippany High School effective Aug. 1, 2013,” Fitzsimons announced during the July 18 Board of Education meeting.

The announcement was made to a round of applause from dozens of residents, teachers and paraprofessionals who attended the meeting to show opposition to a request for proposal to outsource paraprofessionals.

“That's great news,” said a spectator at the meeting.

Mulroony was formerly the principal of Lake Parsippany Elementary School until his reassignment. His reappointment comes just after Parsippany High School interim Principal Lewis Ludwig announced his resignation.

“He left for personal reasons, and we wish him well,” said Fitzsimons.

Michael DiSanto will be reassigned from assistant principal to principal of Parsippany Hills High School.

“They are outstanding young professional who have each served the district well,” said Fitzsimons. “They have the qualifications, experience, and motivation to be outstanding high school principals.”

“Their leadership is sure to be welcomed by the students, faculty and staff,” he added.
