Parsippany Seniors Earn $500 Award From Teachers' Association

Scholarship fund designed to help incoming college freshman with pursuit of teaching degrees.

Aaron Wood and Ryan Mao just earned some help with college tuition costs, thanks to the Parsippany-Troy Hills Education Association.

Wood, of Parsippany High School, and Mao, of Parsippany Hills High School, are both on schedule to graduate this June from their respective schools and are studying business as seniors. With that they have both been given $500 as winners of the 2014 John Capsouras Faculty Scholarship.

The annual award is funded entirely by individual teachers in the PTHEA.

Both students will formally receive their awards at ceremonies in early June. Capsouras was a longtime Parsippany business teacher and association president. The scholarship was created in 2012 after his passing and is awarded to students currently studying business with intentions to pursue teaching as careers.
