Sounds of the Seasons at Northvail School

The elementary school's annual December concert put Northvail musicians at center stage.

Northvail Elementary School held its annual Winter Concert Wednesday, bringing holiday joy to students, faculty and staff in attendance.

The during-school event featured performances by the school's instrumental bands, glee club, tone chimers and chorus.

The show began with a performance by the Beginner Band.

"It was amazing to hear how well the students sounded considering they have only been playing the instruments for a short while," said reading specialist Lorraine Esposito.

The Advanced Band followed, performing a series of challenging pieces.

The second half of the show included the glee club and tone chimers and ended with a performance by the chorus. Nathalia Lie, a freshman music student from Parsippany High School, accompanied on piano.

All were under the direction of Northvail's music teachers, Richard DeCicco and James Caulfield.

"The students and teachers put a lot of hard work into making the show a success," said Esposito.
