6 Parsippany Wrestlers Take On National Competition in Virginia

Season won't end just yet for grapplers.

Touting itself as the “most prestigious high school event, in any sport, throughout the country,” the 25th Annual National High School Wrestling Championship is scheduled for this weekend in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

And six of Parsippany’s most talented grapplers are heading south for the competition.

According to the competition’s website, Parsippany freshman PJ Gohn will take on the challenge at 106 pounds, and 152-pounder Michael Ilic will also take a shot at a national title.

At sophomore, 132-pounder Christopher Gentile will enter the tournament, joined by Nigel Feliz at 170 pounds.

In the junior division, Parsippany’s Zach Kovacs will wrestle at 120 pounds, and Aarin Feliz will test his strength at 152 pounds.

No Parsippany seniors chose to enter the competition.

The tournament begins Friday, March 28, with winners being crowned Sunday, March 30. Find out more here
