Miscues Doom Parsippany, Cerrato in Loss to Delbarton

Red Hawks surrender four unearned runs in Morris County Tournament defeat.

The underdog 17th-seeded baseball team could not pull off the upset of top-seeded Delbarton on Saturday in the first round of the Morris County Tournament, falling 7-2. The loss also ended a six-game winning streak for Parsippany.

IN SHORT
Parsippany found itself down 3-0 after Delbarton scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning with the help of some miscues. While the Red Hawks cut the lead to two runs in the top of the fourth inning, the Green Wave came back with a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings.

Despite allowing seven runs to Delbarton, four were unearned and he was able to contain the top-seeded Green Wave with seven hits. He also went 2-for-3 with the bat with two runs scored and a double.
