Parsippany Girls Soccer Falls to Bernards in Sectional Finals

The final goal was scored in the second overtime period.

Although the Parsippany girls soccer team lost in the sectional finals of the NJSIAA State Tournament in its group, the Red Hawks kept everyone on the edge of their seat with a game that went into overtime.

The sixth-seeded Red Hawks lost to the fifth-seeded Bernards Mountaineers 3-2 on Thursday, ending with a record of 15-8-1, according to NJ.com

Samantha Pignatelli scored both goals for Parsippany, both in the second half and Bernards' Alexa DeMartino scored two goals for the Mountaineers, one in both halves, according to NJ.com.

No goals were scored in the first overtime period and four minutes into the second overtime, Kristin Coury put one in to clinch the victory over the Red Hawks, according to the Star Ledger.

Parsippany should still be proud because, prior to this game, they only allowed one goal over their first three games in the NJSIAA.
