With the spotlight on varsity so much, lets not forget about the underclassmen.

On Monday, the Red Hawks went to the Annual Freshmen-Sophomore Championship at Drew University and the “underclassmen had the opportunity to lined up against their respective graduating class,” said Maurice Saunders in a Patch post.

Ladies first:

“For the Lady Red Hawks, promising freshmen Haley Pignatelli took home two gold medals with wins in the 1600m run in 5:35.32 and 1000m run in 3:19.14 while Sensational Sophomore Ally Schlosser led the way with two gold medals with wins in the 1600m run in 5:28.89 and 1000m run in 3:13.22.  Ally also anchored the second place 4x400m relay that nearly pulled off the win in 4:28.98,” said Saunders.

Let’s not forget the boys:

“On the boys side, Freshmen speedster Kwaku Agyemang had top six finishes in the 55m dash in 7.27 and 300m dash in 41.34. The boys 4x400m relay ended the meet with a fourth place finish in 4:02.41,” said Saunders.

Keep an eye on these underclassmen in the upcoming years.
