Zumba Classes a Hit for Troy Hills PTA

Last Zumba fundaiser is Tuesday. Get ready to zoom.

Over the last few Tuesdays, women of all ages have been heading over to thegym to have fun and get their heart rate going.

They're learning how to Zumba--and raising money through a PTA-sponsored fundraiser.

Cheryl Rubin, a Troy Hills School parent and mom to two children, is a certified Zumba instructor, who discovered this fun, dance workout back in 2008.  She tried her first Zumba class and she says “I could feel the "old me" coming back during that class, and it was all the motivation I needed.  Zumba inspired me to get back in shape, to lose 20+ pounds, to eat healthier, and ultimately, to get happy.”

After being approached to do a Zumbathon at a local hospital, she decided to approach Jennifer Zicker, Troy Hills School PTA President, about doing a fundraiser for the school.

According to Jennifer, the goal for any fundraiser is to have a good turnout and raise money. The Zumba classes have done both. “ I am thrilled to say that we not only have many Troy Hills families signed up but we also have a great number of town residents as well.  While I was hoping that we would have a great turnout, the number of participants has far exceeded my expectations,'' said Zicker.

Cheryl Rubin also teaches regular Zumba classes at several locations throughout the week , her schedule can be found at http://25824.zumba.com.
