4th of July Fireworks to Light Up Par-Troy Sky

The yearly event takes place at Parsippany Hills High School.

Wednesday marks the nation's 236th birthday and, per tradition, Parsippany celebrates in the fashion envisioned long ago by Founding Father John Adams.

In a letter to his devoted wife Abigail, Adams in 1776 wrote about how he hoped the anniversary of the country's independence from Great Britain would be remembered:

"It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade...bonfires and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other, from this day forward."
