UPDATE: JCP&L Completes Power Restoration in Parsippany

A reported 933 lost power Thursday afternoon.

Utility company Jersey City Power and Light reports via its website that more than 900 Parsippany customers who lost power Thursday afternoon have had their electricity restored. 

Shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday, JCP&L's website showed 933 township customers without power. No reason was given for the situation, but the blistering temperature—and increased air conditioner usage—may have played a role.

said power outages generally affected customers east of Interstate 287 and south of I-80. In addition to Parsippany people affected, 932 customers in nearby Hanover and 31 in East Hanover lost power as well, according to the utility.

In all these areas, the number reported without power stands at zero.
