Par-Troy East Prepares for Little League World Series
Team will face Southwest Region champion San Antonio in first game in Williamsport.
The All-Stars could be found on the practice fields Wednesday below Volunteer Stadium in South Williamsport, Pa. The boys and their coaches were there for their final practice before opening day of the 2012 Little League World Series.
The boys were hard at work: They threw pitches, ran drills and took swings in the batting cages, all in an effort to remain fit and sharp before their big debut.
The in this year’s tournament. The New Jersey team earned its way to Williamsport by in the Mid-Atlantic final on Sunday. Last year, the team won the New Jersey State Championship but failed to advance to the World Series. This year, however, they’ll be competing for their hometown, state and region on what is, by far, the biggest stage in Little League baseball—and the players are excited and ready to go.

PTLLE's first game is at 3 p.m. Friday and will be broadcast live on ESPN and ESPN3.com. The New Jersey boys will face off against the Southwest Region champs from San Antonio, Texas, at Howard J. Lamade Stadium.
Wednesday night, Parsippany will be featured alongside the 15 other competing teams—eight from the U.S.; eight from countries around the world—in the opening ceremony parade in downtown Williamsport.
