Anytime Fitness Gives Back with Blood Drive

Gym partnered with the Blood Center of New Jersey in an effort to save lives.

Anytime Fitness saw a steady stream of people come forward to give the gift of life during its Spring Blood Drive, held Thursday at the Tabor Road gym. Patch was one of the many who donated blood for the Blood Center of New Jersey, and it was terribly rewarding and practically painless. "It's about giving back to the community," said the fitness center's co-owner, Eric Skovronek. "Giving blood saves lives." Alicia Savage, the phelebotomist who drew our blood, said donors are needed every day for patients in New Jersey hospitals who need lifesaving transfusions. Until the next time the BCNJ mobile clinic pulls into Anytime Fitness' parking lot those interested in doing their part to help others can do so at the organization's East Orange …

Rescue Dog Takes Center Stage as Mascot of Mt. Tabor Gym

Anytime Fitness is having fun with a contest surrounding its best friend, Luna.

Every fitness center has a unique characteristic. Maybe it’s a particular personal trainer or instructor. Maybe it has your favorite piece of equipment. Could it be that wannabe body builder who keeps looking at himself or herself in the mirror? Anytime Fitness at 1004 Tabor Road has its own something unique: a mascot named Luna. Luna is a 1-year old rescue mutt from Georgia. Her owners (and owners of Anytime Fitness), Eric and Dodi Skovronek, found her at The Last Resort when she was just a pup and she’s been coming to the gym ever since. "The members love her," said Eric Skovronek. "Many have made a dog pat one of the first things they do when they get to the gym." Luna tags along during the cleaning routine in the morning and then hangs…

Anytime Fitness Ready for Small Business Saturday

Mt. Tabor gym offers morning event for the special day

Anytime Fitness in Mt. Tabor is all set for Small Business Saturday, says owner Eric Skovronek. The gym, which offers its members 24/7 access to a clean and comfortable fitness facility, is three years old and very much a small business. "This is a small business owned and operated by local residents," he said. "Even though Anytime Fitness is an international franchise, each is owned and operated locally.  As such, the owners, who grew up down the street, participate in local activities and support many other local organizations." Skovronek said the enterprise run by himself and his wife Dodi is meant to be a small neighborhood fitness center that serves Parsippany, Denville and Morris Plains. He said that as the business has grown since …

Anytime Fitness Hosts PTA Challenge

New effort will help a local school and can show the benefits of exercise.

An area gym is launching a new effort designed to support a Parsippany school and boost business while promoting healthier lifestyles. The PTA Challenge is the brainchild of Anytime Fitness at 1004 Tabor Road. Co-owner Eric Skovronek said the program targets the Parent-Teacher Associations of Mount Tabor, Littleton and Lake Parsippany elementary schools. "For each person who mentions your school when they join, Anytime Fitness will donate $20 to your PTA and give the new member a bonus month of membership," Skovronek said. "This offer applies to anyone—parents, family, friends, neighbors, teachers, etc.—who mentions your school.  "The school that has the most new members join Anytime Fitness will receive a free cup of yogurt at YoFresh …

Anytime Fitness: The 'Cheers' of Fitness

Center tries to create comfortable atmosphere for all clients.

You don’t have to be a lifelong gym member to get into the fitness industry. Consider the case of Eric Skovronek, owner of Anytime Fitness on Tabor Road in Morris Plains. “[I’ve been fit] just to the extent that I’ve been healthy all my life,” Skovronek said. “I’ve coached kids and played soccer myself, but I had never belonged to a gym before in my life.” So, what drew Skovronek to open a brand-new fitness facility back in 2009? “I was looking for a business [to start]," Skovronek recalled. "I left corporate America looking for a business, did my standard research and decided that a franchise was right for me. I wanted something that had a known success behind it. I went online and started looking at different franchises. These 24-hour …
