Tire Slasher Charged With Criminal Mischief, Cops Say

Massachusetts man is being held at Morris County Correctional Facility in default of $2,500 bail.

A Massachusetts resident is being held at Morris County Correctional Facility for allegedly slashing the tires on another man's vehicle, Parsippany Police. Faurry A. Villatoro, 34 of Bedford, Mass., was charged with criminal mischief and is being held in default of $2,500 bail with no 10 percent option. The incident took place Wednesday just before 4:30 p.m., when the owner of a 2005 GMC truck walked into the Wendy's restaurant at 736 Route 46. The man entered the eatery and made eye contact with Villatoro, who allegedly made a comment to the victim, police said. The nature of the comment was not disclosed by police. Swastika Painted on Sign of Route 10 Kosher Deli

Police investigating incident at Plaza West Deli as a bias crime.

A swastika was found painted on the marquee sign for Plaza West Deli Sunday afternoon, Parsippany Police said. The establishment has been known for years as a restaurant offering kosher specialties on Route 10. Police said Officer Paul Levi responded after receiving a report of graffiti on a business sign. Upon arrival, Levi reported seeing an orange swastika painted on the Plaza West sign, which is about 15 feet back from Route 10 West.  The crime is being investigated as a bias crime, Police Chief Anthony DeZenzo said. Cops Probe Graffiti at Park, Broken Window at School

Police ask anyone with information on incidents at Volunteers Park and Northvail School to contact authorities.

Parsippany Police are investigating two incidents of criminal mischief after graffiti was discovered last week at Volunteers Park and a window was found broken Monday at a township elementary school. A township Parks and Forestry Department employee discovered graffiti on the half-pipe skateboard ramp at Volunteers Park Friday morning, according to Parsippany Police. A second criminal mischief case, this time at Northvail Elementary School, is also the subject of a probe, police said. Just after 7 a.m. Monday, Officer Jermaine Pledger went to the school to interview a custodian, who said he discovered a door window on the north side of the building was broken, police said.
