Leaning Utility Pole Closes Granniss Avenue in Morris Plains
No time given as to when pole will be repaired; no power outages reported.
An electrical pole near Watnong Park on Granniss Avenue in Morris Plains remained leaning toward the road at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning. Safety cones had been placed where Speedwell Avenue becomes Granniss Avenue and police barriers had been placed at further down but were being actively ignored by drivers. A notice on the 511nj.org website noted all lanes remained closed and detoured until further notice. Less than five JCP&L customers were reporting power outages Friday morning, according to the utility's outage map. Patch will provide updates as they become available.
