Police say a 31-year-old Parsippany resident was pulled from beneath a van by an unidentified motorist.
Parsippany Police say they are investigating a Saturday evening incident at the Raceway gas station at 2140 Route 10 west in which a local man was struck by and caught beneath the vehicle he was driving. Department spokesperson Ptlm. Earl Kinsey reported that a 31-year-old Parsippany resident pulled into the Raceway station just as the van he was driving ran out of gas. "As he began to attempt to push the vehicle up the incline towards the pumps, the vehicle started to roll backward down the incline," Kinsey said. Parsippany Police say drug paraphenalia was found in a Boonton man's vehicle.
A Boonton man is facing charges including driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance following a Sunday night motor vehicle crash, Parsippany Police said. Christoph Waldron, 44, was charged with DWI, refusal to submit a breath sample, failure to observe a traffic signal, reckless driving, possession of controlled substances in a motor vehicle, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to a police statement, shortly before 9:30 p.m., Waldron allegedly made a left turn on red from Cherry Hill Road onto Interpace Parkway and collided with a 2010 Chevy that had the right of way. A defense attorney from Lake Hiawatha who allegedly injured another driver in a June traffic accident in Parsippany, was indicted on a charge of driving while intoxicated and assault by auto, NJ.com reports. Walter Laufenberg, 53, a former Parsippany municipal prosecutor now working for Morristown law firm Gold, Albanese and Barletti, allegedly injured 26-year-old Randolph resident Ahmed Shoeira on June 12. The accident reportedly took place on Littleton Road, just north of Brooklawn Drive, when Laufenberg, driving north on Littleton, allegedly crossed the double line and struck the other driver's vehicle. Police are looking for a gray compact car that struck a pedestrian Friday afternoon.
Parsippany Police are seeking a vehicle that hit a pedestrian in Lake Hiawatha and took off late Friday afternoon. According to Lt. Jay Weiners, a motor vehicle crash took place around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Roosevelt Avenue. The lietutenant said Par-Troy EMS checked out the victim, who complained of pain, but was not transported to a hospital. Weiners said the hit-and-run vehicle is described as a gray compact car that may have sustained front-end damage. He said authorities are asking the community to contact Parsippany Police with any information at 973-263-4300.

Northbound lanes were temporarily closed Friday morning.
A car accident Friday morning temporarily closed three out of four lanes of northbound Interstate 287 in Morristown, state police said. The accident occured at about 10:30 a.m. at milepost 36 on the highway, police said. Police said the accident was cleared within a half-hour and no injuries were reported. Parsippany Police are at the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle rollover on Route 46 East in front of the Arlington Plaza shopping center. Parsippany Police report traffic on Interstate 287 is moving again with residual delays after being backed up Tuesday afternoon due to an overturned truck. Police said a truck flipped in the express lanes of I-287 at southbound Exit 41 leading to Interstate 80 in Parsippany. The right lane was closed to traffic, causing a delay for motorists of about 10-15 minutes, according to a police statement. No one was injured in the incident, according to New Jersey State Police. Township police urge drivers to remain careful while on the roads.

Three individuals were treated for minor injuries in three-car accident, according to authorities.
New Jersey State Police have identified the alleged drunk driver who reportedly caused a three-car crash that sent several people to the hospital and caused traffic delays on Interstate 80 eastbound just after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jose Placeres, 39, of Newark, faces charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended and reckless driving, said New Jersey State Police spokesperson Lt. Steve Jones, adding that Placeres' white Acura was impounded following the incident. According to state police, Placeres merged onto I-80 East from Route 202, hitting two cars and causing them to hit the median. He subsequently was arrested and charged. State police said a wrecker and Par-Troy EMS were called to the scene shortly before 6 p.m. after a vehicle flipped over on the highway. A rush-hour motor vehicle accident on Route 10 in Morris Plains sent two people to the hospital early Thursday evening. Morris Plains Police, Morris Plains Fire Department and the Morris Minute Men Emergency Medical Service were on the scene at 1767 Route 10, a shopping strip that includes Smashburger, Dunkin' Donuts, Sprint and Coldwell Banker Realty.
