Police said a witness saw a man steal a leather jacket out of man's car before striking him with his Cadillac and driving away.
A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by the car of a driver who had allegedly stolen a jacket from his vehicle minutes prior last Thursday. Both the alleged hit-and-run and theft took place outside a business on Woodhollow Road around 3:30 p.m. Parsippany Police Ptl. Earl Kinsey said in a press release that an employee of the business told police that he saw a black male, described as approximately 5-foot-10 and weighing about 240 pounds, wearing black clothing pull into the parking lot in a black Cadillac CTS. Police said Irvington man did not have a handgun carrying permit.
An Irvington man was released on $10,000 bail after police said they found a loaded 9mm GLOCK handgun on his backseat following a car crash on Saturday on New Road. Ernst Simeon, 33, was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a handgun and aggravated assault. Additional police presence was requested after officers responded to the scene of the crash, 260 New Road, around 7:30 p.m. and found Simeon to have a handgun in the back pocket of the front passenger seat of his Chevy Trailblazer, according to a press release sent by Ptl. Police said crash is still under investigation.
The Route 10 crash in which a pedestrian was struck Saturday remains under investigation after the man died from his injuries according to Parsippany Police Ptl. Earl Kinsey. The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was struck by a car in the center lane at Route 10 West and Yacenda Drive just before 2 a.m. According to a press release sent by Kinsey Wednesday, the pedestrian died after being transported to Morristown Medical Center. Kinsey said no charges have been filed against the driver, who did stop the vehicle after the crash. Anyone with information on the incident should contact Ptl. Parsippany police were investigating the accident that sent one man to the hospital in unknown condition early Saturday morning after he was hit by a car.
A pedestrian was taken to the hospital early Saturday morning after getting hit by a car at Route 10 West and Yacenda Drive, authorities said. The call came in at 1:54 a.m. Saturday, according to Parsippany police, who were unable to release the male victim’s name because his family hadn’t yet been notified. The victim was taken to Morristown Medical Center, where his condition was not known, police said. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, according to police.

Suspended sheriff's officer and his wife were allegedly drunk and arguing with infant in car.
A former township firefighter—accused of arson and indicted earlier this year on official misconduct and drug offenses—and his wife were charged with child neglect Wednesday after allegedly being drunk and arguing with their infant inside a car in a Route 46 supermarket parking lot, Parsippany Police said. Jason Campbell, 34, and Jennifer Campbell, 33, both of Parsippany, were each charged with child neglect. Jennifer Campbell was also charged with obstruction for allegedly resisting arrest and assaulting two officers while being placed under arrest, according to Officer Earl Kinsey, a spokesman for the police department. A man wanted for allegedly stealing a pickup truck in Colorado was found recently at a Parsippany hotel. Ronald A. Stallcop, 55, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was charged with receiving stolen property after Parsippany Police found him and the 2006 Ford pickup at the Residence Inn, police said. Authorities were made alerted of the theft by the Littleton Police Department in Colorado. Parsippany Police said Officer Michelle Kardos went to the Residence Inn at 3 Gatehall Drive in search of the vehicle, and found it there and located Stallcop, who had a room at the hotel. Stallcop was transported to headquarters for processing and charged with receiving stolen property, police said. Bail was set at $2,000 with a 10 percent option. Police said …

Road was closed between Brooklawn Drive and Rita Drive during accident investigation.
Parsippany Police are investigating a two-car crash that occurred on Littleton Road late Tuesday night. One car was badly damaged at Littleton Road and Brooklawn Drive while the other vehicle apparently came to rest on a Littleton Road front lawn. Littleton Road/Route 202 was closed between Brooklawn Drive and Rita Drive around 11 p.m., police said. Additional information about the crash and the conditions of the vehicle occupants was not immediately available.

A woman from Elizabeth was arrested in Long Valley for three outstanding warrants after being stopped for alleged speeding, Washington Township Police Lt. Doug Compton said. Marguerit Mbida, 24, was stopped on East Mill Road just after midnight Wednesday morning by officer Michael Thompson, Compton said. After an identification check, Thompson learned Mbida had outstanding warrants from Hackettstown, Parsippany, and Hopatcong municipal courts in the amount of $1,300, Compton said. Mbida was unable to post bail and taken into custody, and was later turned over to Hackettstown Police, Compton said. She was also issued a summons for the alleged speeding. Three township men face several drug charges following a bust in a North Beverwyck Road parking lot last month, Parsippany Police said Wednesday. Ali Hakimi, 22, was charged with possession of 20 Oxycodone pills without a valid prescription, possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute and possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school (Lake Hiawatha Elementary School). He was transported to headquarters for processing before being turned over to the Morris County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. A Parsippany man was arrested after a neighbor tipped off police to a burglary in progress to an unoccupied home on Lake Court Friday night. Casey Cullinan, 26, was charged with burglary after he was found hiding in an attic when officers searched the home Friday night shortly after 6:30 p.m., according to a statement released Wednesday by the Parsippany Police Department. Police were alerted to the burglary by a neighbor, who reported seeing a man inside the residence when he knew the owners were not home, police said. Responding officers established a perimeter around the home and the owner was contacted and confirmed no one had permission to be inside the residence, police said.
