Mayor's Professional Appointments Approved

Among those approved are two new members to the Transparency Committee and two lawyers who are members of the Morris County Freeholder Board.

Two weeks after its 2013 reorganization meeting, the Parsippany Town Council finally took up professional appointments Tuesday night at its regular business meeting at Town Hall. Mayor James Barberio announced at the Jan. 3 gathering that he would postpone his annual appointments until the next council meeting. And indeed, the list of township professionals was included in Tuesday's agenda. Leadership Changes for Township Council

New year means new officers to the Parsippany council

There are changes at the top for the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council. During its first meeting of the new year Tuesday night at Town Hall, in selecting a new president and vice president, the body gave the public a tiny glimpse into its workings. The start of the meeting featured 2011 Council Vice President Brian Stanton sitting in the president's chair of the council chambers dais, an occurrence that apparently rarely occurs. Likely it is a moment most in the large audience missed, but resident Pat Petaccia noticed. A few moments later, Brian Stanton was voted the new president. It's about time that we have some people with fresh ideas. Out with old in with the new. How about some new people on the BORED of Education. Next to go in Morris county should be "Rodney", who spends more time traveling than with his constituents. It's time to do away with the "good old boys" This can only be done when people get of their butts and vote.   more ›
