It's not too late to protect yourself and your family from influenza.
Haven't gotten your flu vaccine yet? Flu season is upon us, and it's hitting New Jersey hard, and the arctic blast engulfing the area in single-digit temperatures is not helping. According to the state health department, every county is reporting either "moderate" or "high" levels of influenza. And chances are, if you are out and about, people around you are suffering with sniffles, sneezing or stomach ailments. The flu can be deadly. And it was deadly for a 12-year-old Bergen County girl who lost her life in early January, said Dawn Thomas, a state Health Department spokesperson. So if you have not gotten the flu shot, the Centers for Disease Control recommend that you get to it. Flu season can go on until May, but it is not too late to …

Walgreens Pharmacy held a ribbon cutting grand opening of its new location at 200 Baldwin Road in the Baldwin Plaza Shopping Center Wednesday morning. Mayor James Barberio and Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce President Robert Peluso were on hand for the event. The new Walgreens is open seven days a week from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. In addition to its full-service pharmacy, which features a new drive-through window, the relocated store offers private rooms for immunization screens, medical education for customers, a full-service photo area and numerous departments including grocery. "We've moved." That's the sign you'll see if you head to the Walgreens Pharmacy you may be accustomed to visiting in Troy Hills Plaza. If you are a regular Walgreens customer, you probably know that the Parsippany branch of the drug store chain was planning a move just east of its Route 46 site. Well, as of Monday, its new home in the Baldwin Plaza shopping center is open for business. The new store is bright and airy in contrast to the well-worn old location. The Par-Troy franchise will offer drive-through service at its new location.
For months, a banner outside the Parsippany Walgreens Pharmacy, located in the Troy Hills Village strip mall at 1470 Route 46, has teased residents with news of an impending move. The chain confirms that relocation is planned to take place in the fall. The move is not to some faraway locale—the new drug store site is going less than a block away, to the Baldwin Shopping Center at 200 Baldwin Road. Company spokesperson Robert Elfinger told Patch that Walgreens is excited about the move, which is part of a nationwide Walgreens expansion that includes a new store in Madison. “We think we [will] have a more prominent location,” he said, explaining the move.
