Probation for Man Who Stabbed Estranged Wife's Lover

Belleville resident receives five years probation, community service for Parsippany incident.

A Belleville man charged with attempted murder for stabbing his wife's boyfriend 14 times in a Parsippany-based crime of passion won't be going to prison. On Friday State Superior Court Judge Stuart Minkowitz sentenced Angelo Corino, 61, to five years probation, 640 hours of community service, anger management therapy and paying $13,973 for the victim's out-of-pocket medical expenses, the Daily Record reported. The sentence was the state living up to its end of the plea deal struck with Corino in June. That outcome is a bit different than what was expected. Charged With Attempted Murder, Man Takes Plea Deal

Belleville resident accused of stabbed another man approximately 14 times to get one year in jail and anger management therapy.

A Belleville resident facing charges of first-degree attempted murder and other offenses after stabbing another man 14 times in a Lake Hiawatha apartment in February agreed to a plea bargain with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Monday. Angelo Corino, 61, appeared at the Morristown Courthouse Monday. He faces sentencing in August, according to Capt. Jeffrey Paul, a spokesman for Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi. Corino pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the prosecutor's office said. A Belleville man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing another man approximately 14 times in a Lake Hiawatha apartment on Wednesday. Angelo Corino, 61, of Belleville, has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, burglary and simple assault. According to a statement released Thursday by Capt. Jeffrey Paul, a spokesman for Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Parsippany police responded to a 911 call on Wednesday at about 3:15 p.m., and found a man stabbed multiple times throughout his body inside a Lake Hiawatha apartment.
