Two Parsippany-based employees of specialty chemical company Evonik Corporation were recently honored as 26th Year Award of Excellence winners. The two were awarded with all-expense-paid weekends in New York City on April 12-14. The Matt Taylor Award of Excellence, initiated in 1987, is the highest, most prestigious recognition an employee of Evonik’s Performance Polymers Business Unit can earn, the company said. Throughout the last 26 years, this program has recognized 318 employees who have proactively contributed to key areas of the business. Specialty chemical firm Evonik Corporation has a new president. John Rolando, who has spent over 25 years at the global company headquartered in Parsippany took the title of president Monday. Parsippany-based firm donates $10K for township responders, calling it a "token of gratitude."
Following Superstorm Sandy’s destruction, Parsippany-based Evonik Corporation has donated $10,000 to help with disaster relief efforts. Wind Explorer, which uses turbine-generated electricity for power, could have applications for everyday vehicles, company officials say.
Can you imagine traveling in a vehicle 3,000 miles—roughly the distance between New York and Los Angeles—for a mere $15? Evonik Corporation, an international firm whose administrative center is at 299 Jefferson Road, says it's not only possible—the feat has been achieved. The vehicle capable of such economical and environmentally friendly travel is called the Wind Explorer. On Wednesday, the wonder car was on view at Evonik's Parsippany site just before setting off on a tour in which it will be displayed in different spots across the country.
