Garland Jeffreys: King of In Between

The bravest man in rock and roll, appearing in Parsippany March 25, looks forward with excitement.

It's rare that we see an honest-to-goodness rock and roll legend performing in Parsippany-Troy Hills, but it will happen this week: Veteran artist Garland Jeffreys brings his innovative songs to the Mount Holleran Towne Tavern for an intimate show Sunday at 8 p.m. Jeffreys told Patch that he is excited, both about appearing in Par-Troy, and about all he has on his plate for the future. "I am enjoying myself to the absolute fullest," he said from his New York home. "I am performing everywhere I can, all the time, and I don't see that stopping for the next couple of years. Mount Holleran Towne Tavern Offers Tasty Bites

Sure, you know you can get your quaff on--and free pretzel nuggets too-- at the Lake Hiawatha bar, but there is surprisingly good food served as well.

I've known a secret for years: Sometimes the best bites can be found in watering holes. That's certainly the case for an amiable Parsippany establishment better known for its cocktails and Wednesday comedy and open-mic performances. The bar is a lively brick and wood-appointed place that caters to sport fans--all five television sets hanging in the main room, save for one showing a mixed martial arts tournament, are tuned to major league baseball games.  But circling the bar are tables for dining, and a full dining room exists too.
