'Fishtailing' Driver Lands 2nd DWI Charge, Police Say

Wayne resident also had outstanding drunken driving warrant from his hometown.

A Wayne man was charged with driving while intoxicated after his erratic driving caught the attention of Parsippany Police last Friday, according to a department statement. After getting a report of a possible drunken driver, at about 9:49 p.m., Officers Peter Kolln and Robert Smolen headed to Route 53 south, where they saw a red 1998 Toyota SUV “fishtail” as it drove toward the officers, Sgt. Yvonne Christiano said. After stopping the driver, identified as 28-year-old Michael P. Durant, police placed him under arrest. Subsequently, Christiano said, they discovered that the man had an active DWI arrest warrant in the amount of $1,114 out of Wayne on a DWI charge. Heated Argument Leads to Pair's Arrest, Cops Say

Lake Hiawatha residents charged on New Year's Day for outstanding warrants.

Two Lake Hiawatha residents involved in a loud argument were arrested on New Year's Day for outstanding warrants, Parsippany Police said. According to a department statement, officers were called to a North Beverwyck Road apartment on a report of loud arguing. Upon arrival, the officers encountered Pamela Burkart, 41, and Larry C. Guay, 58. They also discovered outstanding warrants against both parties, according to Sgt. Yvonne Christiano, a department spokesperson. Christiano said Burkart had a $400 warrant out of Paterson for traffic violations, while Guay was wanted on a $150 Morristown warrant for smoking in public.
