Baldwin House Now Officially Belongs to Township

After nearly 200 years of Smith-Baldwin family ownership, the South Beverwyck Road estate is now the property of to Parsippany.

It's official: Parsippany is the new owner of the historic Baldwin House. After more than a year of negotiations and dealings involving environmental issues, Mayor James Barberio on Thursday finally signed the closing documents to transfer ownership of the home at 460 S. Beverwyck Road to the township.  The move was first announced in September 2011, when the mayor announced the town's intention to buy the home built in the 1820s from its most recent owner, Anita Baldwin, to who he issued a proclamation sending thanks. Baldwin, whose family had lived in Parsippany since 1733, now lives in California. The Township Council formally approved an ordinance allowing the $672,750 sale in December 2011. Students Get Creative at Par Hills' Art Week

Video on the Go offers a look at the high schoolers' talents.

Parsippany Hills High School is celebrating Art Week.  For the next five days, the school's corridors will be filled with the creative works of students, according to teacher Erica Pizza. She said students formed small groups  to create pieces of art that could be displayed throughout the school to provide their fellow classmates with enjoyment and inspiration during their day. Video on the Go created a chronicle of the art on display so the inspiration could be shared throughout the entire Parsippany community.

Parsippany families had a merry old time at Town Hall Sunday, as municipal leaders and residents gathered for the annual tree lighting. Video on the Go was there to capture the sights and sounds... and a visit from Kris Kringle himself.

Parsippany officials and residents gathered at Veterans Memorial Park Sunday to pay homage to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Video on the Go presents the ceremony and shows the tribute paid for those from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and U.S. Reserves who served and serve this nation.

Craftsman Farms Presents 'Stylish' New Exhibit

New installation showcases fashion trends of the early 1910s that helped shape the nation politically, socially and economically.

A fashionable new exhibit is now open at Parsippany's Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms. Saturday was the launch day for “Styling an American Family: The 1910s at Gustav Stickley’s Craftsman Farms.”   The exhibition features clothing, hats, wigs and accessories from the early 20th century worn by mannequins and allows guests to see the human form in Craftsman Farms' Log House as it may have looked from 1911-13 when the Stickley family lived there. The items on display were furnished by Syracuse University's Sue Ann Genet Costume Collection. The installation consists of 35 mannequins that represent an upper middle class American family of that period. They are shown in nine vignettes that recreate particular moments of everyday life, …
