ReplyMore drug busts that's what we need. Great job PT police and investigators. Hopefully this will help keep the Parsippany youth from over dosing or becoming addicts.

Agree. Excellent comment. Kindness can go a long way. Also I feel students who may notice others being left or becoming an 'outcast' should not be afraid to go to a teacher or guidance to make them aware. The children, no matter of the age, should be encouraged to speak up, even if they just feel uncomfortable about something. You never know, early intervention could possibly save lives.

ReplyAgree with Roberta, makes sense. Whole Foods or Traders Joes would do well. We have nothing like that in Parsippany. Why should our residents have to leave town for a good health food store or organic spices. I either go to Denville, Florham Park or Wayne!

ReplyI think we should look at this as a positive instead of a negative. Let's hope is this just the beginning and the council chooses to give us another rebate in 2014.

ReplyI also work in an elementary school in Parsippany. The wasted fruit, vegetables and fruit juice is actually a disgrace. The children HAVE to take a heathly piece or a juice from the healthy selection. (I do understand and agree with the healthy lunch program). However, the children do not eat the fruits/veggies even if they are hungry. Literally the food is taken and some of children walk into the lunch room and throw it in the garbage can before they even sit down. The bagels are smaller, that is crazy, the kids love the bagels. Two small meatballs and a hot dog bun: that's the complete lunch, besides the veggie choice. There r starving people on our streets in NJ and 100's of bagged food is going in the trash. What can be done?! Even at the elementary level the children are complaining that the lunch has gotten smaller!

I had to re-read this article. It appears that the High out ranks the Hills in college bound readiness, but the Hills ranks above the High in academic scores. It is conflicting in that way.
