ReplyTime to promote the next one so he can also get a nice retirement package in about a year or two. Of course no mention of his unused sick and vacation day bonus, maybe he didn't get one?
It is good to be a cop in Parsippany. :-)

ReplyIt is a free country, but you are arriving a bit late at the table, no? If you support Choffo & Co, you will probably help their cause by splitting the opposing vote. If you don't support them, and they win.. you might want to reconsider future runs if you are not able to make it to debates, etc..

I guess a question would be why would he not just say he lives in Parsippany even if he is in a shared zip-code, I guess he feels it is "better" to live in Boonton?

ReplyIf I'm not mistaken, anyone that works in the Parsippany school system is allowed to enroll their kids in Parsippany, it does not matter where they live. Since his wife works part time in a school here, I assume that is why. I will NOT vote for him, but the rule itself does make sense since we are able to recruit and retain teachers with school age children to come and work here.

ReplyI suspect the turnout would be much higher if the election was moved to the general election.
Speaking of which, why aren't we voting on school board members during the general election?

ReplyJ.D. without getting to personal, you just don't get it, the whole machine is broken. What we have is a chance to start fixing some of it. My point is that it is not just Seitz that is being voted on here... The NJ gravy train has gone way too far, and way too many people are on this train that just simply can't be supported. Just today in Daily Record it was mentioned that here in Parsippany we are looking at 17 police officers with 25+ yrs of service might retire this year.....and claim approx $3 MILLION in unused sick and vacation time. I guess in your mind that is hunky dory as well?

ReplyConsolidation is something that is finally being considered by some of the candidates... Imagine if we could consolidate all the schools' management under a county level system? In Morris County we have 75,000 or so students with 40+ school districts, with 40+ supers, 20+ assistant supers, director of personnel, curriculum, etc etc. Fairfax County Virginia has great schools, 175,000 students, 1 Super and 8 Assistant Supers....

ReplySad that some put their name on the ballot, but can not find the time let people know where they stand on the issues. I can appreciate having to take car of a sick parent, but if you can't make it to at least one debate, how are you going to make it to all the board meetings?? Richard Gerstl and John Harrison you should just remove your names from the ballots....
Choffo is excused, he is a know entity. People know where he stands, and will vote for or against him based on his record.

Disrepair? Ever since it was installed it has looked terrible, not only has it been crooked and not level, but it also looks like a cheap temporary construction fence. If you are not going to do it right, why do it at all?
