Steve, I have the option of making comments require editor approval before publication. It's an option I take rarely, and generally only in cases where I expect vitriolic comments. Just a means of keeping the comments in check and stop them from violating terms of service (which includes insults, profanity, hate speech, etc.). Your comment was approved and is up.
