UPDATE: Chevy's Fire Deemed Accidental, Caused by Grease Igniting in Kitchen

Two firefighters treated for smoke inhalation as agencies worked for hours to extinguish blaze.

The fire that ripped through Chevy's restaurant on Route 10 Thursday morning has been deemed accidental and began in the kitchen where grease ignited in the ducts above the charcoal broiler, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

The fire, which was deemed under control at about 11 a.m., was initially reported by a motorist who saw flames coming from the building's rooftop at about 8:45 a.m., according to a statement released by the Parsippany Police Department.
